Portrait of Mike Dalton, UX Product Designer
I’m a Product Designer inspired to create human-centric solutions that solve complex business problems. By following research data, I strategically unlock the full potential of design thinking. My goals are to increase revenue while improving the user experience with accessibility and equity in mind.
I am an open communicator, collaborative and enjoy my work. My enthusiasm for the design and creative process aids me in dealing with abstract and obscure challenges in unknown territories and utilizing standard best practices to avoid reinventing the wheel. When I'm not designing, I make photographs with my 4x5 camera and explore New York City.

How I work

Listen, understand, empathize, design, test, compare.
Discovery
Create a research plan. Interview. Gather Requirements. Document. Verify. Identity what needs to be improved or establish desired KPI's. Benchmark if necessary.
Collaborate & understand
Synthesize data. Workshop. Use tools such as as task analysis, as-is/ to-be journey maps, or move into IA research such as tree testing.
Design
Create designs starting with sketches, then move on to wireframes, high fidelity designs, interactive prototypes using Figma or any other software that fits your needs.
Test & Repeat
Create a test plan and use a prototype to test with real users and measure results against benchmark or confirm usability test or a/b test achieves KPI's. Make improvements when needed.
